The Velocity Heli-Radar Virtual Radar System is designed to enhance military airport operations through a sophisticated tracking and monitoring solution. This system comprises an encrypted transponder for both aircraft and helicopters, paired with a ground unit that provides a decrypted overview of the operational environment.
One of the standout features of the MH transponder is its adaptability as a civil/military combination device, enabling users to switch between civil ADS-B positioning and encrypted military operations as needed. Each mode can be easily activated or deactivated in the aircraft to suit operational requirements.
The server module can be conveniently installed on any elevated structure, such as an airport control tower or communication mast, ensuring a clear line of sight for optimal surveillance coverage. With the option to add additional antennas, the system achieves exceptional accuracy, rapid updates, and comprehensive identification information at a lower cost compared to traditional surveillance systems. Encrypted communications allow for the concealment of target identities and locations, enhancing operational security.
The aircraft tracking module is designed for efficient power use, continuously broadcasting 3D positions and speed vectors derived from GNSS data, along with altitude from a barometric sensor. An optional display can provide situational awareness by showing nearby traffic and weather. This tracking module is versatile, capable of being permanently mounted or deployed as a portable solution powered by either a wired connection or batteries.
